About Us
Mission Statement
SYB’s mission is to promote the growth of baseball at all levels of competition for the Sycamore community. The development of sportsmanship, teamwork, honesty, courage, respect for authority, and physical fitness is the organization’s priority. To accomplish this mission, we seek to attain the following objectives:
- To govern the league in a manner that puts the development of our players, as both athletes and people, above other considerations.
- To provide our players with volunteer coaches who work with players of all ability levels and who remember that development of exceptional athletic skills and winning games is secondary to the development of players and to providing our players with positive examples and a positive baseball experience.
- To provide our players with volunteer coaches who seek to teach those players the rules of the game, along with proper baseball fundamentals.
- To provide high-quality facilities and equipment for the use of our players.
In-House Recreational Baseball
Sycamore Youth Baseball is proud to offer the opportunity for the youth of the Sycamore community and surrounding areas to participate in our In-House Rec League Baseball. This league is designed to provide opportunities for players, both boys and girls, from Pre-K (Age 5) through age 14 (as participation numbers permit). Our In-House league is based out of Sycamore, IL, and will primarily practice and play on our park district fields. There may be games with nearby communities that will be away games.
Travel Baseball
Sycamore Youth Baseball offers a Travel Baseball opportunity to players within the Sycamore community, meeting the needs of players and families seeking higher competition and training. For more information on our travel opportunities, please visit our Sycamore Titans Baseball page.
501(c)(3) Information
Sycamore Youth Baseball has had the opportunity to introduce thousands of boys and girls to the great game of baseball over the past decades. Beyond baseball, we strive as an organization to instill sportsmanship, teamwork, honesty, courage, and respect in the area's youth.
Sycamore Youth Baseball is a not-for-profit league under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, relying on league registrations, charitable donations, and volunteerism to create exceptional baseball experiences. This means that we prioritize being good stewards of the resources and funds provided by the community. If you would like to review our Form 990 filings or annual financial statements, please contact our President, John Bradley, at john@bradleyaccountants.com.
To help offset costs, we are seeking volunteers who are generously willing to donate their time and/or materials to advance our mission and contribute to our efforts.
If you are interested in volunteering or partnering with our organization financially, please don't hesitate to contact our Executive Board at exec_board@sycamoreyouthbaseball.org.
